Age and Gender
After discussion we have decided that our target audience is going to be Males between the ages of 18 - 45. We have done this because we think our film would be an "18" certificate from the BBFC because all of the action scenes and the swearing with the gore that our film might have will not be suitable for a young child to sit down and watch and I believe the most people to watch our film would be in the early 20’s because they will go out with their friends and watch an 18 certificate because they enjoy watching the films and they are always up for a laugh.
Social Economic status
Our audience will be D to C1, which means from the working class to the lower middle class. We have chosen this because this section covers most of the population and the people within these classes would go to the cinema to watch this film because action thrillers are what people like to see because it gets the viewer off their seat and gives the viewer a rush which they like.
Nationality
Our nationality of our audience will be of any nationality because our film can be shown anywhere in the world as long as they change the language, we have chosen any language because our film will not dis-grace any country in it so I believe a person of every nationality will be able to watch the film and enjoy it because everyone loves a good action thriller. i believe the main nationality of our audience would be British and American because they can understand the language of the film and the Americans support most of the British cinema and they would like to see the film.
Interests
The interests of our target audience will be that they like to watch thriller films because someone who watches thrillers would understand what they get when they watch them, someone who watches adventure films may not understand the brutality that a thriller film has because they are just not use to watching this type of film.
By doing all of this research has allowed me to have a clear image of our stereotypical watcher of our film and we can be put in their shoes abd imagine what they would like to see in our Action thriller.

ReplyDeleteI agree with Miss Ash that there is some good detail with reference to age and gender.
ReplyDeleteHowever, you need a re-think with reference to socio-economic status and nationality. comments such as the 'working class just want to relax at weekends' is a far too sweeping and simplistic statement. Think about nationality, think about why it might appeal specifically to UK and US audiences
